Tamang’s one of the ethnic group of people living in the highlands of north east of Nepal are a close relative to their Tibetan neighbors. Rich is cultural bio diversity this trek is a newly established route where the journey takes you deep through the Tamang settlements giving you wonderful opportunity to meet authentic Tamang people and witness their ancient traditional culture and also to make them economically viable from tourism. This trek also includes spectacular 180 degree views of the Langtang Lirung mountain, Ganesh Himal mountain range and other Tibetan mountain range from Nagthali above Brimdang. Brimdang is also home to the healing spring hot water where you can soak and relax your muscles after a long climb up from Gatlang. Watch out for jungle chickens, Himalayan grey languor, musk deer, etc.
During this trek you can enjoy the dramatic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m.), Langtang Kerung, Chimse Danda ridge crossed by Ganjala Pass (5122m.), Dorje Lakpa (6989m.), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges.
The area is located north of Kathmandu towards the Tibet border of Kyirong. The mountain views, local Tamang village settlements with their unique house structures, hand-woven crafts as well as wooden handicrafts, hot spring baths, fresh yak cheese, songs and dances of the ever smiling Tamang people, amazingly beautiful trails passing through many rhododendron forests and tall Sal trees are the main highlights of the trek.
